Board governs the licensing of Mobile Intensive Care Paramedics
in Alaska. Licenses are issued through the Division
of Occupational Licensing within the Department of Community
and Economic Development.

KidCare Denali KidCare is a State of Alaska
program designed to ensure that children and teens of both
working and non-working families can have the health insurance
they need. EMTs and paramedics are often asked for information.

site is part of the Alaska State Legislature's web system
and worth a visit even if you don't have a statute or regulation
to research. The system has an outstanding interface which

for Emergency Medicine. This site is where you'll find the
latest and greatest information on the revision of the National
Standard Curricula for EMT-Paramedic and EMT-Intermediate.
Continuing
Education Coordination Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS).
A non-profit organization that evaluates and credentials EMS educational
programs, including distributed education.
Emergency
Medical Services for Children Program.
The EMSC program has worked diligently to improve the emergency
medical care of injured in sick kids. The organization's
web site is terrific and does a nice job of representing the
myriad activities performed by this important office within
the Department of Health and Human Services.

Services WWW Site List. This site contains links to over
800 emergency services sites on the world wide web. If you are looking
for one site at which to start your surfing for EMS, fire, law enforcement,
SAR, disaster management, and hazardous materials, this is it.

Intelligent
Transportation Systems. This web site has excellent
information about how technology and transportation are being merged
to make the highways (marine, land, air) safer and more efficient.
How does EMS figure in to all of this? Automated crash reporting
and other EMS related issues will arise and it's essential that
we provide guidance and recommendations to ensure that ITS initiatives
result in timely and appropriate emergency medical care. There
are some incredible advances on the drawing boards (and some which
have been implemented in other states).
International
Critical Incident Stress Foundation. The ICISF
is a non-profit, open membership foundation dedicated to the
prevention and mitigation of disabling stress through the
provision of: Education, training and support services for
all Emergency Services professions and Consultation in the
establishment of Crisis and Disaster Response Programs for
varied organizations and communities worldwide.

Association of EMS Educators.
National
Association of EMS Physicians. The National Association
of EMS Physicians (NAEMSP) represents physicians responsible
for the medical oversight of EMS programs as well as non-physicians
dedicated to out-of-hospital emergency medical care. Most
of the physician members in the Association are medically/legally
responsible for the provision of out-of-hospital emergency
care. This site contains quite a bit of information
on physician medical direction, including a model medical
director curriculum and the new model pediatric emergency
medical care protocols.

Association of State EMS Officials. The NASEMSO
is the lead national organization of EMS and a respected voice for national EMS policy with comprehensive concern and commitmetn for the development of effective, integrated, community-based, universal and consistent EMS systems.

Center for Emergency Medicine Informatics. In addition
to being a very aesthetic and logically structured site, the NCEMI
pages offer outstanding information and capabilities,
including a page which allows a near effortless process
for subscribing to several of the national list servers.

EMSC Data Analysis and Research Center (NEDARC). NEDARC is here
to help Emergency Medical Services (EMS) agencies and Emergency
Medical Services for Children (EMSC) projects develop their own
capabilities to formulate and answer research questions and to effectively collect,
analyze, and utilize EMS data.
National
Heart Attack Alert Program Information. This
page includes a report detailing the essential elements of
a community plan for emergency cardiac care and gives examples
of model plans. In addition, it recommends strategies
for planning for cardiac emergencies to result in an "optimal
plan" based on the chain of survival by minimizing or
eliminating factors that delay or restrict emergency treatment.

Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The goal of
NHTSA's EMS Division is to develop/enhance comprehensive emergency
medical service systems to care for the injured patients involved
in motor vehicle crashes. NHTSA develops many of the curricula used
throughout the US, including the EMT-B curriculum, the 1996 EMT-Refresher
curriculum, the Emergency Medical Dispatcher Curriculum, and others.
This web site contains a great deal of information about NHTSA EMS
activities and allows many of the curricula.

Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians provides
many services to the EMS community nationwide.

Rural Health Resource Center. Rural health providers
and their communities can help ensure the availability of health
care in their areas by taking advantage of available resources provided
by the National Rural Health Resource Center and the Technical Assistance
and Services Center (TASC).

The mission of PEPPA is to educate emergency response agencies

Rural
Medics Home Page. An emerging site for EMS
personnel who provide care in rural environments. The site
has terrific potential to help EMS personnel learn more about delayed
and prolonged transport issues, providing care in temperature extremes,
and other challenges.
